    Area WIRELESS Privacy Policy

    Area WIRELESS (hereinafter “we,” “our,” “us”) is committed to safeguarding the personal information entrusted to us by our members, employees, potential customers and other visitors. We manage your personal information in accordance with Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act and other applicable laws. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, handle, disclose, retain and protect personal information.

    Privacy Policy Consent

    By accessing and using areawireless.ca (the “Site”), or the products and/or services we offer, facilitate or administer (the “Offerings”), you acknowledge and agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy, whether you have read it or have had the opportunity to read it and have chosen not to, and your consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information as described herein.

    If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, you must not access or use the Offerings and are strictly prohibited from doing so.

    Personal Information We Collect

    • Other personal information required for managing and facilitating Offerings and Outside Offers.

     

    We normally collect personal information directly from you when you are interacting with our Offerings or with us about the Offerings or Outside Offers. We may also collect your information from affiliates and third-party organizations to help us, and those other parties, better service you through the Offerings or Outside Offers. We may also collect your information from other persons with your consent or as authorized by law.

    We assume your consent to collect, use and, where applicable, disclose personal information that you voluntarily provide by engaging with the Offerings, or with us about the Offerings or Outside Offers.     We will not sell or trade your personal information but may disclose your information to affiliates and third party organizations to help us and those other parties provide better services, including the Offerings or Outside Offers, to you and others.

    Use of Cookies

    “Cookies” are small text files placed on a computer or other device and used to identify the user or device and collect information when you visit a website.

    We use necessary Cookies, allowing you to move around our Site and use its features. We also use performance Cookies for future advertising goals and data insights about your online behavior regarding the Site and other Offerings. We currently use Google Analytics, Hubspot, Facebook Pixels, and have the rights to their use and may use additional or alternate services, including without limitation The Google Marketing Suite in the future if we deem it beneficial for any of our products or services.

    You can disable Cookies through your web browser’s settings, but disabling this function may diminish your experience on our Site as some features may not work as intended.

     Information Retention

    We will retain your personal information for as long as necessary to facilitate the Offerings or Outside Offers you have interacted with or selected, or for other essential purposes such as complying with our legal obligations, maintaining business and financial records, resolving disputes, maintaining security, detecting and preventing fraud and abuse, and enforcing our agreements. You may write to us and request the earlier deletion of your personal information, which we will comply with unless the personal information is necessary for us to fulfil our legal obligations, but this will result in you being unable to use or benefit from the Offerings and Outside Offers.

    Information Protection and Security

    Our website uses commercially acceptable security measures to prevent your personal information from being lost, used or accessed in an unauthorized way. We use a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). If you receive an email from us that appears to be a request for personal information, do not respond because it may be a phishing scam designed to steal your personal information.

    We cannot guarantee that your personal information will always be secure. Should there be a data breach, we will notify you when we are legally required to do so.

    You can unsubscribe from our communications at any time through the unsubscribe links found in the correspondence you receive from us.

    Changes to this Privacy Notice

    This policy is effective as of May 2024. We may change, modify, or update this Privacy Policy at any time by posting an amended, restated or revised Privacy Policy on our Site which will immediately bind and govern.
