How it Works:

The fee to purchase a new device is 5.5% of the retail price of a new smartphone of your choice, and is financed over a 36 month term.
No lump sum payout is required at end of the term - you own the device outright.
You must be on the Area WIRELESS data plan in order to purchase a device with our program.
If you wish to leave the Area WIRELESS data plan you must pay out the remaining device balance in full.

Premium Voicemail to Text

Unable to check your voicemails, or just don't have the time? With Voicemail-to-Text, get a text and audio version of your voicemails sent straight to your text messaging inbox on your device. (*fee applies)

Data Only Add On

As an Area WIRELESS subscriber you have the option to add on a smart watch and/or tablet to your plan. This provides an additional 1GB of data to your plan at max speed.

Travel Data Plans

The Area WIRELESS Plan offers subscribers different travel plan options when outside of Canada. You have the freedom to choose which is best for your trip. Ensure that you contact your Concierge to choose the most beneficial option to your specific requirements

Planning a US or International Holiday?

When leaving Canada for a US holiday or an international destination, Area WIRELESS offers different plans depending on your needs:

Roam Like Home^TM

Roam Like Home lets you use the talk, text and data included in your monthly plan just like you would at home. This feature is automatically enabled on all subscriber lines. Simply turn on data roaming on your device. Once you arrive in your destination, you will receive a welcome notification confirming that Roam Like Home™ is active and ready to use. Once Roam Like Home™ has been activated, the duration will last for 24 hours; at which time, should you continue using Roam Like Home™, you will incur an additional charge applicable to the destination you are in. The charges are as follows:

$12/day for US Destinations*
$15/day for International Destinations*

*Maximum charge of 20 days per billing cycle.

Flex Roaming

Flex Roaming is a feature that is offered in countries where Roam Like Home™ is not available. Flex Roaming offers different Tiers based on your usage requirements for voice, data and text. For some countries the flex roaming is very expensive, caution and research on the rates where you are travelling should be undertaken before you go. You will only be charged for the service you use (e.g. if only data and text is used, only those 2 features will be billed). Flex Roaming will be automatically enabled in countries that do not have Roam Like Home™ coverage. For more details please see https://www.rogers.com/consumer/wireless/travel. (Please note, you can use your wireless device on many cruise ships, but Roam Like Home and Flex Roaming are not available on cruise ships. Your only Rogers roaming option is to be charged standard pay-per-use roaming rates).

For Users who do not wish to incur charges, all voice, text and/or data functions should be turned off, as applicable, for the duration of time spent in the international destination. It is important to keep in mind that Area WIRELESS and Rogers have no control over what third-party wireless services may charge in the country where roaming occurs.

Users are responsible for their device use while travelling and are responsible for all charges incurred. Neither Area WIRELESS or Rogers will offer credits on unexpected bills, as charges are reflective of the device’s use during that period.

If you are a Canadian snowbird and travel to the US or Mexico frequently, our Traveller's Choice Plan is ideal for you! Get 100GB of Unlimited data for only $65/month and access unlimited calling, texting and data with Canada, US and Mexico.

Note that calls and texts to international phone numbers that originate outside of Canada, US or Mexico will be subject to standard rates.
